Forum
The fourth China Fintech Frontier Forum was held online on 12 December 2021 under the theme “Fintech enabling the digital transformation of China's economy”. It was organised by CUFE's School of Finance with support from several university research and laboratory units working on financial technology.
Programme
The forum combined sessions on applied innovation and academic research. Topics included the digital transformation of financial institutions, central bank digital currency, supply-chain finance, the regulation of large internet platforms, bank risk-taking, platform concentration and international spillovers from digital-currency markets.
Center contribution
Bo Chen, then Executive Director of the Digital Finance Research Center at CUFE's Institute of Finance and Economics, gave a presentation on the development prospects of NFTs in China. The presentation examined marketing, social and investment motivations, together with risks related to pricing, perceptions of wealth and illicit financial activity, and discussed the need for regulation to develop with the market.
